I'll be honest, I don't know a lot about American history, and only decided to watch Lincoln because of Daniel Day-Lewis. And now that I have finished it, I can't say that I understood everything that happened. But what was crystal clear to me was that Abraham Lincoln was a good man (if I'm wrong please correct me), and the happiness displayed by the black citizens in the gallery when the vote was finalised made me tear up. The cast on the whole were really good (and I didn't expect to see so many familiar faces) and I loved the soundtrack by the legendary John Williams. While I don't think I'll be watching this film again soon, I do sincerely appreciate it.
