“Nah... I mean, I'm already pregnant, so what other kind of shenanigans could I get into?”
This is a first time viewing of Juno, and this film is a lot more heartfelt and romantic than I expected. I knew the idea of Juno getting pregnant as a high schooler, but the journey of this film is both beautiful and a little sad. Elliot Page and Michael Cera are goofy together and it really helps you realize that these are young and naive high schoolers. And then the subplot with Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman as a married couple, Garner’s character wanting a child while her husband seems unsure of it all.
I had a great time with this film. Very random to point out, but I am a sucker for films set in autumn, and I love the vibe of the first 30-45 minutes of this film. And as for the film itself, I loved its heartwarming ending, with Juno stuffing Paulie’s mailbox with Tic-Tac’s and kissing him on the football field. A sweet high school romance film, but I wouldn’t advise any high schoolers to try and live it.
