for sure this was an avant-garde movie in the 50’s, and Ida Lupino was maybe considered as feminist, but this should be a movie starring a victim of rape, giving back justice and gratitude to her.
The rapist, then the fiancé, the father, and the DOC, that is portrayed as this wonderful and handsome man that saves her thank to his faith.
Somehow the weight of the (MALE) characters she is surrounded by, take too much room in this movie.
