You know how crazy it is that the two women that lead this film were both married to the guy who wrote this film? At separate times, of course, but damn! No wonder he took inspiration from his life. Ida Lupino, who also directs this, is so stunning looking in this. She took this script and said “I’m going to make it understandable for a guy with rocks for brains to get why this dude married two women at the same time.”
It’s not the most extraordinary story put to film, but I find it interesting that they paint the bigamist in an understanding and patient light instead of immediately vilifying him. The story ends with a level of knowing that these women still love him no matter what. A good film.
