7.8/10 really tough watch. They choose a really hard subject matter to touch on but I think they execute it amazingly. Whoever’s ass made this soundtrack took this away from an 8/10 because holy it sucked. This movie is very boring the first hour but you got to stick through it. The last 30 minutes of this movie heavily carry it. I didn’t know Tobey Maguire had acting bag like this. His performance absolutely captivated me and he shows you the effect of war on your mental state. All the triggers from the dog barks to the balloon. That dinner table scene was just so damn intense and whoever that little girl was man she can act. I do feel like Jake Gyllenhaal could’ve tapped more into his bag but the movie didn’t let him. I’ve been wanting to get to this for years and I’m so happy he did and those last 30 minutes will absolutely break you. Especially when Toby goes outside with the gun at his head and he just is absolutely gone mentally at that moment. That scene nearly brought me to tears as you just see his whole world crashing down and he can do nothing about it. I do recommend this but it is a incredibly tough watch.

I was kind of hoping he’d actually crash out in the end and there’d be a huge plot twist

Some dude jeets his war veteran brothers wife & he goes haywire. Phychological Thriller, Even a Horror at this point. Deeply Emotional & Intense.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT I DID WITH THESE F***ING HANDS TO GET BACK TO U. I cannot explain how good the acting is in this movie what a cast. Portrays ptsd so well. One of the most tense endings I’ve ever seen I was literally on the edge of my seat I was so invested.
