An adaptation based on my favorite book of all time. It was faithful to the crucial parts that depict Zweig's masterful understanding of the human psyche and the actor translated the trepidation well into film. I appreciated the allusion to Zweig's own experiences with authorities as well but I wish they led with 'one game only' premise, and scattered other brilliant quotes from the book throughout, and that they kept to the book's original ending, but a solid adaptation otherwise
