"Petite maman" is the cinematic version of a warm hug, but where both individuals are flooded with nostalgia. It's the kind of raw emotion & nostalgia that makes you gulp the knot in your throat.
The film made me spiritually connected to the daughter I may or may not have in the future. I wish we could all experience what Nelly experienced in her little journey. I too would want to see my own Marion when she was a little girl.
Céline Sciamma, you are one hell of a movie director. This is the 2nd movie I watch from hers and both of them are on my top 4. I love her work sm.
On a final note, I wish I could hug my mom right now but it's 1 a.m., exactly the day before Christmas eve, and everyone's asleep. Looks like imma have to postpone the hug for tomorrow :)
