I didn't expect Unruh to focus quite as much on the day-to-day, while being precise and close. The love story of a watch worker and Piotr Kropotkin I did expect was there, but ultimately only one of many parts. It is refreshing visually and quite confident in its slow, determined pace and a balance towards atmosphere, more than story (though there is certainly one in there). It looks beautiful and the decidedly time and people focused view on class struggle is portrayed very personally.
