Top tier Ryan Reynolds and Jeremy Piven! Had a great time across the board but these two were really acting their asses off. They were both blown out of the water by Taraji P Henderson, but there’s no surprise there. Andy Garcia with the foghorn leghorn accent was a hurdle for me, but his screen time was limited enough for it to be forgettable (to the movie’s advantage). Loved the look and feel of this - felt like an elevated version of Crank or an American Snatch. Kevin Durand is a favorite of mine so I’m always pumped when he pops up, and this was no exception! Every character is so distinct in their archetype that you know that they have real motivation and a direction within this overlapping web of basically identical plots (kill Buddy Israel, get a million dollars), which made for a really fast paced watch jumping between characters that we immediately understand. By no means a masterpiece to define the time period or make any kind of grand statement about society (government corruption = bad), but I felt like my time was well spent. Recommend!
