one of the most frustrating found footage efforts i’ve had to sit through. while i’m all in for experimental projects, this was more an endurance test than any type of film. the characters are sloppy, and i barely even registered them throughout the film. i see that the sound design and editing getting major praise, and sure its done well and it sticks out but when im bored out of my mind for an hour, a thundering boom in the night isn’t going to give this film some terrifying atmosphere, i just couldn’t care less what was going on at the point. and speaking of the night, what a brutal experience, i absolutely loved staring at a black screen for half the film, and somehow it gets worse by having the world’s worst camera flashlight, i can’t even begin to explain my irritation when the flashlight was being used. the overall editing of the film makes it even worse, just jumping back and forth between random points in time, and that’s technically how the film is supposed to play out but it just ruins any tension or anxiety that the film starts to build at any point in time. aimless wandering and just a waste of what could’ve been a cool idea.
