I owe Robbie Banfitch an apology.
The Outwaters did not do it for me.
Tinsman Road on the other hand is a masterclass on grief, beliefs, and remembrance. From being shot on 4:3 through a Mini-DV, the music, the location; it just all comes together so beautifully in a somber kind of way.
I do love how Robbie has a director trademark now through two movies, a really shitty flashlight.
All jokes aside I think the more cohesive relaxed nature of this film compared to the abstract rush of The Outwaters is what really did it for me.
The last act of this film had me on the edge of my seat only to be the first found footage movie ever to almost make me cry.
