When El, an aspiring sneaker designer from Queens, meets Kira King, the fiercely independent daughter of legendary basketball star and sneaker tycoon Darius King, sparks fly as the two bond over their mutual affinity for sneakers. With a little nudge from his best friend and a sprinkle of Fairy Godfather magic, El finds the courage to use his talent to pursue his dream of becoming a ‘legit’ sneaker designer in the industry.

This honestly could have been a good movie
But
I hated how dumb the step brothers were. They could’ve been really strong characters but instead just knocked over boxes? I didn’t believe their malintent.
El’s stepdad told El he was grounded like three times but he was still hangin out with Sami and basically doing whatever he wanted anyway. So then I didn’t really believe stepdads malintent either. The worst thing he did was be a bad dad.
If they followed the story of Cinderella closer I think it would’ve worked better. Make it so Kira doesn’t know who he is. Not his name or where he’s from. They could hang out all day but when she meets him again at the gala she doesn’t recognize him. So the new El is this fancy designer but the real El is a young boy from the Bronx. Bc Kira knew all this stuff about El already I didn’t believe that she really thought he would be this big time designer.
Anyway I wanna be a sneakerhead but I actually know nothing about sneakers so yeah
