Fourteen years after Third Impact, Shinji Ikari awakens to a world he does not remember. He hasn't aged. Much of Earth is laid in ruins, NERV has been dismantled, and people who he once protected have turned against him. Befriending the enigmatic Kaworu Nagisa, Shinji continues the fight against the angels and realizes the fighting is far from over, even when it could be against his former allies. The characters' struggles continue amidst the battles against the angels and each other, spiraling down to what could inevitably be the end of the world.

this might be my favorite of the rebuilds because of just how much changed and how jarring it is initially. i love that the run time is mostly shinji and kaoru in terms of plot and everything from the black plug suits to the giant willa ship was so cool.
i think this is the only thing that could come close to the dread and intimacy of end of evangelion.

I really don’t know how to feel about this one. It just had me kind of lost like I knew what was happening but also idk I was just lost. This one felt the least like the series of anything I’ve watched it truly felt like its own thing and it was cool but idk. Visually though it is outstanding it’s just really cool. Overall idk maybe it will grow on me more after I finish the whole rebuild with the next movie but for now idk it was weird.

This is where the cruel fact slapping Shinji's ass. He is nothing but a tools, including every civillians and NERV(intrumentalized). It is already peaked.
My Neon Genesis Evangelion(1995) review is right here boxd.it/cSYnEZ
