honestly so fun and campy and silly and scary!! children sometimes play adults, the dialogue feels like things kids of the 80s would imagine grownups saying, lines are read badly while looking past the other actors at cue cards, there’s guffs and giggling and costumes made of crepe paper, and it’s all great. a little time capsule of kids making their own horror flick. the score is genuinely great and there are some really good spooks shot in creative ways. is it objectively kind of terrible? yes. but definitely worth watching even if only in the background while you’re carving a pumpkin or something. there’s something very inspiring and endearing about this film though, horror home movie from aspiring filmmakers, i liked it :) AND someone calls their teenage employee a “stupid brainless freak”, what’s better?
