As I continue my x-men watch through, we come to what I think is so far the weakest one in the series. I’m not a huge fan of the Japanese theme, I don’t really feel like it fits the x-men aesthetic. It felt like they had the yakuza and ninjas in the movie just to say, look we have the yakuza and ninjas in our movie, we’re so cool. The giant samurai suit made of adamantium broke pretty easily, also the old man being evil was kinda dumb, it almost felt wrong making him the bad guy. Viper was really the only saving grace of this film. Definitely not the best. It also felt kind of slow, felt more drawn out with less action than others, I don’t know, it just wasn’t what I’m used to in x-men movies.

For being called The Wolverine it just felt like way too much of a side story to me, just bridging to the next film. Still was a sorta fun ride, but it pretty easily blends in amongst the other superhero films of the era.
