Biff Grimes is desperately in love with Virginia, but his best friend Hugo marries her and manipulates Biff into becoming involved in his somewhat nefarious businesses. It’s nice, but I just can’t like Biff. I don’t know, he didn’t even care about Amy, and when Virginia got married, he started being interested in her. And a grown old man who thinks that fighting for everything is nice is a big frustration for me. I just don’t get it. Amy deserves a better husband and a better friend

Un'innovativa commedia romantica che si pone come obbiettivo quello di far ridere lo spettatore mostrando un piccolo frammento di quotidianità dell'America del 1890. E riesce a fare tutto ciò con successo.
Una commedia che pur non essendo recente resta attuale, trattando con grazia temi che affliggono la società attuale, come la parità di genere.
Il tutto è reso ancora più divertente da battute che riescono sempre a colpire nel segno, da un fantastico quartetto di attori protagonisti e da un'indimenticabile colonna sonora.
