Pretty cool silent film! It has some pretty set shots, fun and zany characters, and a good balance of laughs and chills. It's equal parts comedy, horror, mystery, and thriller. I can see how it set the standard for spooky house movies--films like House on Haunted Hill, Clue, and The Old Dark House all feel very close to it. I think it's a great spooky movie to get into the Halloween spirit!

Honestly this was disappointing. Part of it was that I could not get behind the score on the Eureka bluray and it really took me out of it. Some cool camerawork though. Thank you Paul Leni for removing the blackface.
