Oh the thing's I'll watch for Vincent Price

I was actually kind of excited to watch it because of its reputation but nah it’s just the most boring shit of all time. It’s actually kind of interesting to see how Bava gets progressively less interested in shooting this as it goes on. The first 20 minutes are actually fun but then it’s just complete ass. Torture sitting through those last 60 minutes - in particular when the movie does its silent shit it is insufferable. It’s pretty racist too, but there are so many things more egregious than it in this that it’s barely worth mentioning.

Man there’s just so many things that i absolutely love about 1960s cinema like the grainy quality of the films with the mix of so many beautiful colors and not to mention the accents they all had and the amazing wardrobe that the 60s had like the clothes were just so stylish and just the perfect amount of colors to make them pop now see some people may watch this film and think nothing highly of it but i must say that i enjoyed every second of it from start to finish like mario bava has got to be one of my favorite directors of that era because he can have such films with some very interesting and deep plots and then you have this one where it’s about some insane man creating girls who are bombs to take out the many generals of the different counties so that he could take over the world which is such a stupid but very comedic plot for a film ❤️

UNERTRÄGLICH! Der Humor besteht zu 80% aus Szenen die schneller abgespielt werden während Leute irgendwas warum auch immer machen. Mittendrin das Komikergespann Franco und Ciccio, das seine Routinen, für die man ein eher simples Komikgemüt haben sollte um sie witzig zu finden, bis zur mentalen Aufgabe des Zuschauers darbietet.

Da kann auch Vincent Price nichts mehr retten, das hier ist ohne Zweifel der schlechteste Film den Bava je gemacht hat. Aber gut, bei fast nur kleinen Meisterwerken kann man sich einen Ausfall erlauben.
