Sundance this year really said ~TrAuMa~ but make it super esoteric with pretty production design to take the edge off.
The look of The Blazing World is exquisite, but the film ultimately feels like a Pinterest mood board - shallow and cobbled together with a questionable attempt to dive into the depths of grief. Carlson Young loves genre fare and it shows, but this just didn’t come together for me.
