Wow what a ride. This started off very strong for me, I think the added humor was done well in a way many movies addressing mental health can’t achieve. Great performances all around and a good watch.

My first Sundance watch really caught me by surprise!

Jerrod Carmichael combines his gallows humor with an intense story, creating an experience where you're between laughter and tears most of the movie.

I loved the performances, especially Christopher Abbott who really caught me off guard with his comedic timing. JB Smoove, Tiffany Haddish, and Henry Winkler round out the supporting cast, all great comedians showing off a more serious side. Ultimately though, this is Carmichael's movie and he owns it. I have always loved his stand-up and I really look forward to seeing him continue his filmmaking career.

This movie presents a lot of interesting ideas about depressed and suicidal individuals, including that they are more willing to help the people around them than they are to help themselves. It makes you want to be there for the people in your life that matter and see the good in people despite their bad actions.
