I think Knocking is a well-executed film if not a great one. The film does do paranoia well, making great use of its camera to inhabit a space as the actor finds herself, but ultimately feels like a lot of it could have been trimmed down as the end result does feel like there is an overall lack of consequence. The isolation feels rather depression-core, in a sense, especially with how cold Molly’s new neighbors seem to be towards her. I do think this will draw the urge for a rewatch from me at some point despite me not necessarily liking the film as a whole simply because there are visual aspects to this that I love. It’s just that those visuals are not enough to carry the film

KNOCKING is slow and you can most likely guess the source of the knocking in question. However, KNOCKING excels in churning our protaganist further into doubt and turmoil regarding her own sanity. Unfortunately, at a pace I found to be too slow.
