I don't understand why the trend is to draw people ugly on purpose. Comics have been doing it more and more in the past fifteen years (Marvel refuses to have attractive women now). I hate the art style, but that's just a personal preference, I'm sure some people love it, but you can't argue that they made all the humans look hideous on purpose. I loved the color palette and the cryptids had interesting character designs, but they went out of their way to make all the people as ugly as possible, inhumanly ugly. The story itself sounds interesting, and it is, until they abandon the thread of starting the Cryptozoo and instead it becomes a boring fetch quest with terrible pacing and terrible voice acting. Just because you are a good actor doesn't mean you are a good voice actor. Of course I had tons of nitpicky problems (Like how the lead comes across a cryptid and pets it, but she doesn't pet its head or its belly or its back. She pets its fucking mouth. Also, there is a tarot reading and the woman says the hanged man card is upside down. If it's upside down, then why the fuck is the "Hanged Man" name on the card right side up and on the bottom of the picture like every other card that apparently isn't upside down? I'm no tarot expert (it's even less real than the cryptids in the film), but I don't think that bitch knows how to interpret those cards), but the awful story, abysmal voice acting, and shitty character models are more than enough to write this one off. This is a movie idea that could have been very interesting in capable hands, but was smothered and suffocated in this pair.
