the introduction was my favorite part
i don’t think the final moral of the story was well messaged by the ending sequence (aka i didn’t like the fish segment)..? the conclusions for the characters and the zoo were ngl unsatisfactory for me ://the color palettes didn’t do it for me
dash shaw says that filmmaking is much more of a dreamy medium than cartoons are but it doesn’t feel like that characteristic was exploited throughout the movie. the inspirations were so good though, i was happy knowing about them because of the interview imbedded on mubi
