Well shit, I guess I’ll never escape to the countryside then.
Okay flick that manages to be really fucking weird and suspenseful, albeit in a mellow, slow-burn manner, and at times the plot feeling a bit bland, nonetheless it was still worth checking out as I was still with it all the way through. It was pretty stylized, the atmosphere looked unique and interesting but also pretty awful in a few spots. I haven’t seen Annihilation yet (on my agenda) but I have seen Ex Machina, and I do seem to inch closer towards EM than this in terms of plot, momentum and execution, despite this not being too horrible at all as a alright attempt at a psychological thriller by someone who usually does sci-fi.
Also, the Impact font used for the titles looked cheap and odd.
