Went ahead a little bit on this Best Picture ranking because this was on a free trial subscription that I got to watch Lawrence of Arabia on and today was the last day. I haven’t seen this film in years, and I remember really enjoying it in the past. I first saw this in 8th grade many years ago and we were all pretty hype with this film and I enjoyed it seeing it the first time. Then shortly after that I watched it again and really enjoyed it just as much the first time and haven’t seen it since in over 10 years. Compared to some of the other films I’ve been watching that won Best Picture, I get why this won and it’s deserving, but I was really quite bored watching this. The scale, direction, and acting from Ben Kingsley is great, but I just wasn’t super engaged with this film as I have in the past. Just felt very average to me in terms of biopics and probably won’t watch this again, but some parts are very well done just not very rewatchable.
