“you know what i’d like?”
“what?”
“a big, huge, pink…cotton candy!”
i’m a sucker for a good found family trope, especially if it has queer undertones, so i really liked the premise of this movie. the characters are interesting and it’s nice to watch their stories unfold. i did feel like the pacing got kind of weird when they took that trip; i enjoyed it more when they were in their cottage and not being the “Cunninghams”, but that’s just my opinion.
don’t even get me started on the weird gray people in the scene where Arthur is having his “attack”. i thought the kids were bad but then we see his gray parents in the car and i was lowkey scared. that’s some horror movie shit right there. speaking of horror movie shit — the scene of Junie Moon getting burned by that guy was terrifying.
also i love that i immediately clocked Giles’ actor as Harold from The Boys in the Band. i guess queer 70’s cinema is a small world, but i do love it.
final note: i need some of Warren’s brownies, they lowkey looked scrumptious.
