Not only is this by far the greatest sports movie of all time this is truly one of the greatest movies of all time. While the experienced is definitely enhanced when you read the manga beforehand it is a film that can bring in newer fans while also keeping lifetime readers/watchers engaged. Never before had I watched a sports movie where the filmmaker had such a passion for the sport ooze into the work as much as this one. The characters are all excellent and feel like real people that you want to cheer for. With a beautiful blend of 3D and 2D animation as well as a soundtrack that matches the films energy, this will go down as one of the greatest underdog fictional stories ever.
