I’m really split on this one. Visually, Twixt has these striking gothic images that keep replaying in my head, Coppola creates moments that are absolutely mesmerizing. But the tone is all over the place, and I never fully connected to the characters or the story. The writing can feel clunky, and the narrative gets messy, especially when it jumps between dream logic, small town crime, and personal grief. A lot of it just didn’t stick for me. Still, there’s something about the atmosphere that works, and I can see why someone would love this for its strange, dreamlike vibe. Maybe a rewatch will help it click more, because the visuals keep growing on me even if the story didn’t quite land.
