This movie is effie for me. I like the edge, although some scene were cringy with the 3D effect, but they were only a few. So I don’t mind. Abby is a very morally grey (leaning towards dark tho) character which I can appreciate; what I can’t appreciate is her drugging Danny, but other than that I was with her. This movie is more for the male gaze since Abby even though clearly being a Lesbian she still strives for male attention, the excuse of her targeting Married men that cheat on their wives is such a cop out. The way Abby’s backstory unfolded was nice, although she was the narrator most of what we learn is from other characters. This is another case of a lesbian wanting to take an “innocent” straight girl and taking her purerity away, which is a very harmful stereotype that portrays lesbians as predators, or sexual objects for Male desires. I feel like films like these where it is a femme Fatile using men and killing them should mostly be written and directed by women because of the nuance that the topic brings. Comparing this movie to Promesing Young women, which was directed by Emerald Fennell, it is inferior and I believe it is because of th e way women’s bodies and the way the men in the movie perceive such bodies differ from one another.
