Night Fishing is cool. It opens with a jazzy song that I can’t find the name of anywhere, which I am sad about. The story is about a man who goes fishing, and at night, he catches the body of a woman in his line. I’m a big fan of the camerawork here, which was done entirely on a piece of technology appropriate for the time, an iPhone 4. David Lynch and Danny Boyle would be proud. I like how it’s not necessarily freaky or outright scary, it’s just a very unnerving premise. It might be the first horror thing I’ve seen where instead of jumping, I’ve just shuddered. The second half is about the man, now dead, speaking through the woman, now a shaman, to speak to his relatives from the afterlife. Overall, it’s neat and also a little weird. 7/10
