i really need to stop watching queer films for my own well being because i always know what to expect out of them and they always leave me feeling so saddened on the inside like going into this one i had already knew just exactly how it was gonna end because of so many people saying how it left them in tears so once it ended up getting to the very depressing parts of the film i had to fully brace myself for that heartbreaking ending and boy was it one that just left me so empty inside because of how much i felt so extremely bad for both of the men because one of them was so in love with the other to the point he had all these things planned out in his head of their future with one another even wanting them to live together while you could tell that the other loved him so much as well but since back then being a homosexual was seen as something so disgusting and terrible he had to push the other one away to try and protect his image and also the risk of losing his position for something that he couldn’t control which just thinking about brings me to tears because of how many men back then couldn’t openly be themselves because of how terrible of a society we live in where homosexuality is looked at as something so despicable instead of something so beautiful and natural and how many had to take that very secret with them to their graves like you could just tell that both of the men in this film cared so very much about one another just by how very gentle and intimate they were with eachother which i got to give to both of the actors who did such an amazing job of portraying such beautiful chemistry between them but the thing that was the saddest to me was that this film was based on an actual true story like i hope that both of the men got to be with one another again in the afterlife since they weren’t able to do that in this fucked up world but i did enjoy this film from start to finish because it was such a beautiful story but also one that leaves you in tears by the end of it 💔
