An amazing movie, it really puts into perspective how war changed things. I love how other soldiers really liked the radio show because it was lighthearted and entertaining and something to look forward to, whilst the lieutenants didn't like it as it "mocked authority". I think the real hard hitter was when he was doing the reports on the "unofficial events" that quote on quote "didn't happen" even though he was right there when it happened. It shows how censorship was huge back than, and any defiance was absolutely not tolerated. The music played in the background was also deeply symbolic. Louis Armstrong's 'what a wonderful world's being played while showing active war scenes. The line "...and I think to myself, what a wonderful world..." That part of the song being played while the scene unfolding was the bombing of a village and a bloodied sandal was oddly symbolic. Overall it is an amazing watch and a definite recommendation. A robin Williams classic, rest in peace king.
