watched this for the dystopian space vibes and honestly? the production design kind of ate. the zero-gravity battle room scenes were straight fire and gave very much "laser tag but mixed with freeze tag."

​but also... the way they just gaslit this poor kid into committing accidental intergalactic genocide? literal insanity.

Read the first book as a kid, I remeber kinda liking the movie back then but on rewatch it’s just so bad. All the “acting” if you can call it that is just the most plain line delivery known to man. Everyone is so goddam stiff too.  I think the only redeeming quality is the short battle scenes in the gravity fields are somewhat fun.
