A wonderful advertisement for the medium of film and the need for its preservation. The structure of the film is largely talking head segments extolling their favorite films and their memories with classic movies which is always nice but it doesn't aim to go any deeper than that. If I had seen this as a kid when I was just beginning my interest in film, I would have been all over this but at this point I found myself wanting to know much more about the National Film Registry as an institution and not so much about how great films like Star Wars and The Godfather are. Still, I'm not gonna complain that much about a film so filled with genuine love for the medium of film and there are enough neat tidbits about the Registry itself to make it worth the watch.
