Coerced by the evil Witch Raga, Ashura, the Hell Virgin, attempts to unlock the four Earth holes that lead to the Gates of Hell. Together, Raga aims to control the Earth. However, two monks skilful in magical powers set off on a journey to the cities to obstruct Ashura from unlocking the gates and stop Raga. Otherwise, not only will control of the Earth be at stake, but the King of Hell will resurrect and darkness will overcome the world.

The Peacock King
never a dull moment here, literally every single scene is crazy. the practical effects are also really good, with plenty of fun stop motion sequences and really old but charming CGI. overall, a fun little film with good characters and villains! also cool that Takashi Miike was the assistant director on this! Lam Nai-Choi is becoming a new favourite director!

The Peacock King
Knockout surprise. If you like films like Mystics in Bali and The Seventh Curse, this is a martial arts sorcery flick that comes highly recommended. It's earnest with its portrayal of good and evil following a path similar to an r-rated power rangers. It ends with a kaiju-esque finish that is truly impressive.
