It’s incredibly campy. It doesn't take itself seriously for a single second. The dialogue is often stiff and bizarre, and the special effects are intentionally or perhaps unintentionally charming in their crudeness. It your typical "so bad it's good" but with a high enough budget to make the weirdness feel deliberate!

Fonda brings a unique, innocent-yet-knowing quality to the role. While the movie is undeniably exploitative by modern standards, Fonda plays Barbarella with a sense of agency and curiosity!
࣪ ִֶָ☾.
Those mechanical dolls with razor-sharp teeth are genuinely terrifying!
࣪ ִֶָ☾.
The pacing feels awfully slow pretty early on, I think I would actually die if it was any longer!
