my first jean luc goddard film and i quite liked it. i think this really showed me what french new wave is and im excited to dig in more.
this is definitely a hard film to recommend tbh. it’s a collection of random shots without much (if any) connection and some interesting philosophical dialogue. but if you know anything about me, i’m always gonna eat up french women smoking cigs in a scenic backdrop talking about existentialism. this was totally a vibe movie and i liked the vibes 🤷🏽♂️. i also found the french new wave elements really interesting because ive never seen anything like that before. auteur theory fr. overall, i had a good viewing experience and the way this was shot will stick with me, but apart from that i wasn’t left with any lasting impact and it was fairly unmemorable. that being said, i do want to check out some more of jean luc goddard’s work because with some plot, i think this concept could be so good
