"if you want to kill yourself, kill what you don’t like. kill narcissus."
i don’t care that this movie isn’t technically great, i don’t care that it looks homemade, it’s beautiful in what it says. the characters are complex and real, almost too real, and the last 10 minutes really got me, that was really well done.
i love the vibe of it, and the early 2010s homemade filmed style.
the constant film references, the editing styles, the animated segments make the movie infinitely better.
i do wish we got to see the therapist more, he got like a minute of screen time and they got along then archie never saw him again. i feel like it could’ve been strong development, but instead his role was shifted to vargas in the end, which is good and bad.
the dialogue is real and gives characters a sense of their mindset, specifically sierra and corey, without directly saying what they’re thinking, even if you already know what they’re thinking
sierra and archie’s dynamic was really strong and it made me care for sierra and hope for her wellbeing almost as much as the main character if not more. her character was similar to people i know, and that made the ending, or the whole movie for that matter, that much more devastating and worrying. i can’t remember the last time i cared for the characters as much as this, so it impacted me even more.
"im a ragdoll, i’m a loser, i’m a sorry entertainer."
