The German Chainsaw Massacre
Hooptober 16/31

''Herzlich willkommen in der Freiheit''

Christoph Schlingensief's German Chainsaw Massacre is more of a dark comedy than horror and a satire of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre by the great Tobe Hooper. It takes place one day after german reunification and also deals with this topic and the general political climate in germany at the time. I didnt find it as bad as many here, but i also couldnt really enjoy it very much.

I read that the film was shot in 10 days, and you can really tell, if i may say so. Nevertheless, i do respect it, and you have to give Schlingensief credit for making one of the most bizarre films I have ever seen and will probably ever see.

HOOPTOBER XII

10/31

Mildly baffled by this but respect it as an excellent political black comedy.

The best part of this film, is that it’s only an hour long. Filled with too many backpfeifengesichts it became irritating. Anything for Hooptober though.
