Cut from 35 hours of interviews with leaders of the armed struggle, the film presents an image of confident, unapologetic and proud feminine identity. Together, the memories of these women narrate the dream of a generation, yet unrealized.

كلام ليلى خالد، لما قالت إنها لم ترَ فلسطين إلا مرة أخيرة في 1968 من على متن الطائرة، دخل قلبي كطعنة، وضعت نفسي مكانها وتخيّلت أني أكبر بعيدًا عن أرضي، أني أُنجب أطفالًا لا يعرفون شيء عن الوطن، لا يعرفون رائحة تُرابه، لا يسمعون اسمه إلا في الحكاياتو لعنت إسرائيل مرة، وأمريكا مرتين

“Our people react to any victory or pleasure that other people gain. We react because we feel it is ours, not just theirs. Why? Because we have the same enemy to face.”

Yet another fantastic documentary by Arab Loutfi, consisting of interviews with several of the brave women that spearheaded the palestinian revolution movement in the 60s and 70s, detailing not only their experiences with the different militant operations they were involved in and the time they spent in prison, but also their feelings towards their homeland of palestine, the occupation and future of the resistance movement.

I feel like this is such an important documentary and it was both a pleasure and a terrible time watching this. It’s a fantastic film.
