“If I gave 10 lire to everyone who asks me for money. I’d be a beggar!”Body horror in a De Sica film is wild 💀
Fun little dig at consumerism, not exactly hilarious but the comedy is subtle and more confined. The acting is quite good and while the final act is a bit underwhelming, it’s a good movie by most standards and the ending was satisfactory.
Overall, Not as bleak as f.ex Bicycle Thieves and there’s a level of body horror that I was not expecting to see from Vittorio De Sica, definitely entertaining. Worth checking out!
