The script is a mess, the dub is awkward, the animation gets really choppy and low budget, even for the era, yet, still, even through all of that, there is a weird psychedelic charm, like Heavy Metal through the lens of anime and Jack Kirby, to this mostly forgotten anime film. Loved the design and name of the film's antagonist, Crystal Bowie.
