i’m ngl it was hard to take this film seriously when it’s about a girl living in poverty and “going through everything” to get her brother out when it was made by a girl who’s lived in a family of billionaires her entire life … i mean, is this what rich people fantasize about? is this what nicola peltz wishes she would have endured to avoid getting all of the “nepo baby” comments? it’s definitely a very superficial depiction that lacks any genuine insight of a life in poverty.
plot aside, the performances and screenplay are rather unbearable, as well. the relationship and care she had for her brother was sweet and i loved seeing how supportive she was of him, but everything else just seemed incredibly dry. idk how someone could make a 90-minute movie feel longer than a 150-minute one
