A briefcase with undisclosed contents – sought by Irish terrorists and the Russian mob – makes its way into criminals' hands. An Irish liaison assembles a squad of mercenaries, or 'ronin', and gives them the thorny task of recovering the case.

Very mid late 90s action movie with little substance, underwritten dialogue, and forgettable characters leaving it emotionally hollow. The cast and chase/action sequences are what keep it watchable.

It's been a few years since I last watched Ronin, so I kept thinking Jean Reno was going to be a villain, conflating his character from Mission: Impossible like a total dumbass.
