Using this as not only a review for the movie but also the show, and that's why it will also be in my anime list.

This review is gonna be a little different since it is centered solely around these 5 sisters and their love, so I wanna discuss it by listing them each and breaking them down.

Futaro: I'll start with our protagonist and someone that I am still not sure how I stand. He's a super well written character with good intentions and he never really makes the wrong actions, but he his personality just never sat right with me. I don't, I just feel like he was always unaware of their feelings and not humble to say the least. While I didn't think Yotsuba was the worst choice I am glad he ended up with her, because their personalities fit. That doesn't mean she is my favorite by any means, I am just glad he the others didn't get this pompous douche that I never really say what they all say in him, but it's the story I guess.

Yotsuba: That only takes me to one person, his bride. I see a lot of hate for them ending up together simply because people like another sister over her but this is an extremely selfish and honestly unintelligent thing to believe, I think no sister truly fit him better than Yotsuba and it was great to finally see her at least partially love herself and Futaro. But like I said, her character is probably the weakest not only in her writing but also her abilities. The reason I like the others are because they go so hard in each of their passions and goals, but Yotsuba does everything she loves to a small degree, making her sorta fall back from the rest.

Ichika and Nino: Probably my personal least favorites and for very similar reasons so they can be grouped together. Although they are polarizing, I respect the role they played in this story, both being aggressive and upfront with everybody, maybe getting to an annoying point but at least there was nothing left up for the imagination. They differ in how they interacted with Futaro but only on the surface, I believe they are still both super complex in their hearts and we didn't see anything, not to mention wasn't a huge fan of how easy they gave up by the end, but I understand we needed to get a move on.

Miku: Now I can't help but love the shy and misunderstood sister, especially for someone like her, but Miku's just such a charming character and is easily in my top 2. Miku is just such a real character, representing the girl who would've never said anything if not for her sisters and easily the one who grows the most in this story. Her journey is so fun to watch but not because of her love for Futaro, I really more enjoyed the scenes with herself and her family in terms of her development, her monologues were handled with so much emotion and power and every word she said was perfectly believable to me. I was so glad to see that she didn't end up with Futaro, one of the last two that deserve so much better and I strongly disliked how much she was into him, clearly their personalities did not match at all and although they had good chemistry it was clear they weren't meant to be.

Before I get to my final and favorite character, I just want it to be known that the ending unfortunately wasn't a shock to me. After finishing the anime, I forgot there was a movie and I checked TikTok and completely spoiled it for myself like a dumbass. While it didn't completely ruin my viewing it definitely made it much less tense and the ending was less satisfying, but all in all I don't hate myself for it so.

Itsuki: Finally, after some thought, Itsuki is by far my favorite character in this show and by far the one I am most happy did not end up with Futaro. Itsuki is the most independent... throughout the story it is just so clear who stood above the rest not only in her principles but also her maturity. During the whole anime I am not ashamed to admit I was sure it was her that was going to win, she was the first in every sense of their journey with Futaro, and just seemed to have the best connection with him. It was almost like a season of the Bachelor because their connection just seemed to slowly split by the end and while I didn't hate, Itsuki deserved better on 2 magnitudes, not only not deserving to get her heart broken but also not deserving to be dismissed in such a way by the writing, I just hated seeing by far the strongest character in this story be built up and torn down without any resolution, although I guess that's just like her. Itsuki is just someone that I coudn't help but admire and take notes from, so hardworking and her extremely powerful determination and just as strong heart made her the easiest to root for the the most perfect character, I also loved how easily she was able to get over him.

All around, this was a great group of girls and a great story to pair, although some scenes were a little strange, once you look past them you get a piece that is so raw and emotional to every word, and one so many including myself can learn from.

he vuelto a ver esta obra tan hermosa que hace cinco años me encantó, y sí, eso no cambió ni un poco.

esta reseña no va a estar guionazada, solo diré un poco lo que se me venga a la cabeza

hablando solo de la peli la vdd es que me parece bastante buena, le da un cierre muy bueno a todas las quintillizas q la vdd me derritió el corazón y la elección final del prota es sublime.

hablando más en general... gotuobon no hanayome es un romcom cuya premisa gira en turno a unas quintillizas que se enamoran del prota qué es su tutor y compañero de clase, todas ellas se ven envueltas en una batalla por ver quién se queda con él prota. la premisa es simple pero muy buena en vdd, el que sean quintillizas da mucho juego con roles y personalidades, aparte de poder tocar temas no tan vistos como esa búsqueda de identidad no solo en el mundo que te rodea sino tmb en tu propia familia, ese es un tema que se abarca mucho y cada una de las quintillizas tiene sus propias inseguridades y problemas respecto a este tema, y por supuesto que esto tmb da pie a muchísimas interacciones y situaciones fuera de lo común y por tanto interesantes, aunq eso es solo en la teoría. la vdd siento que la obra en general no termina de explotar todo el potencial que tiene, no digo que lo hagan mal pero pudieron haberlo hecho mucho mejor.

con respecto a la comedia, siendo totalmente franco no es el punto fuerte de la obra y casi no tiene ningún momento realmente gracioso o ingenioso, la mayoría de chistes son físicos o relacionados con burlarse del prota así q no recuerdo ningún momento que me haya hecho reirme en toda la puta obra y eso es preocupante... en cambio con el romance es todo lo contrario, la verdad aquí lo hacen muy bien, esta muy bien construida la relación que tiene el prota con cada una de las quintillizas y cuando una parece que toma la delantera, justo después hay un capítulo dedicado a otra quintilliza que equilibra la balanza y en general es muy difícil de cara al final saber con qn se va a quedar el prota.

dicho esto debo decir que siempre fuí team nino, la primera vez que ví el anime lo era y actualmente tmb, aunque no por eso debo decir q me molesta la elección de futaro, realmente es lógica y esta muy bien construida.

ya por último solo haré un ranking de qn merecía quedarse con el prota (de la última a la primera):

Ichika: la vdd q puedo decir, ichika es de las primeras que trata bien al prota al ya conocerlo desde pequeña y al inicio de hecho no lo hace nada mal, con ella el prota puede hablar de cualquier cosa y mutuamente comparten sus miedos y sus preocupaciones pero de cara a la segunda temporada se empieza a comportar como la villana y termina mintiendo y jugando con absolutamente todo. ahí se fue todo a la mierda, en cuanto se perdió la confianza ya sepultó su oportunidad...

Nino: esta es la chica que drogó al prota dos veces, DOS VECES, nada más q decir. sí, es mi favorita por su carácter y su fuerte sentido de hermandad, pero hay q estar claros que el prota realmente nunca supo como lidiar con ella, hasta diría que desde siempre le tuvo miedo y aunq al final empieza a remontar un poco simplemente había mucha falta de comunicación en su relación con él... :c

Miku: ella en realidad está bn, aunq desde siempre fue un poco celosa. aquí tampoco ví demasiada química con el prota en comparación a las otras dos q le siguen, miku era buena opción sí, pero realmente nunca hizo nada altruista hacia el protagonista, y no puedes esperar enamorar a alguien simplemente dándole regalos y siendo bonita. aparte de que siempre se guardaba las cosas, así es muy difícil.

Itsuki: aquí si ya me costó pq honestamente si el prota se quedaba con ella no lo iba a ver nada mal, con ella siempre tuvo una bonita relación construida desde el respeto y fue la primera que conoció y se interesó en la familia de el prota... lo que más diferencia a itsuki de las otras tres es que itsuki nunca actuó de forma egoísta, siempre respeto al prota pero principalmente su relación con sus hermanas y nunca aplastó a ninguna para conseguir lo que quería. con el prota fue amable y lo ayudó en muchos momentos duros y ya para terminar debo decir q es la que más clara tenía su futuro y eso suma puntos.

Yotsuba: llegamos a la más merecedora de su amor en mi opinión, y d vdd que estaba clarísimo que ella iba a ser la q se casara con el prota. para empezar yotsuba fue la primera q conoció y con la que hizo esa promesa de estudiar mucho para tener una vida mejor, y ya por ahí tenía mucha ventaja pq además de ser su primer amor fue la persona que lo impulso a cambiar su estilo de vida y ser más aplicado con los estudios y en general una mejor persona apartir de ahí. desde el inicio ella estuvo para apoyarlo con sus clases de tutor y siempre confío en él e hizo todo lo que estaba en sus manos para ayudarlo y hacerlo crecer como persona. nunca fue egoísta, nunca peleó con sus hermanas, ella solo quería la felicidad de todas incluso si eso implicaba dejar de lado la suya y eso es la que la hace ser tan especial... ella lo ayudó no solo en el pasado sino incluso en el presente al convertirlo en una persona más sociable y no solo alguien que se preocupaba por los estudios, además que al hacerlo delegado le ayudó a hacer amigos. en fin, yotsuba god te amo.

I don't necessarily think he chose right but then again, it's profoundly obvious he chose the one he likes most. Not us, the audience likes the most. It's simple. I can see why she worked best for him. But the story should've focused more on her throughout rather than just throwing her into first place just because she was who he intended. It's poor writing. But still, even if it's not the ending I hoped. It's not a bad way to end the series. Just could've been better.
