Watching this documentary makes Kids feel even grosser in retrospect. A lot of the young “actors” honestly seemed exploited, and the scenes of Larry Clark dodging reporters’ questions gave me the ick. The fact that he was nearly 60 while spending so much time around 16-year-olds makes the whole thing feel deeply uncomfortable like a different kind of predator entirely. And then seeing that the Weinsteins were involved in distributing the film was basically the disturbing cherry on top.

i’m honestly heartbroken, rest in peace to both justin pierce and harold hunter. this doc showed the difficult realities faced by most of the young people working on the film kids, and showed how it led to heartbreaking outcomes. fuck larry clark and harmony korine, they took advantage of each and every cast member

both harold and justin were beacons of connection and friendship, they shouldn’t be remembered for how they passed but for the love and kindness they showed others around them

Went a lot deeper than I expected, v emotional. It’s crazy how alike the father looks to Justin. Ppl seem not to like this doc because it doesn’t explore Harmony Korine’s rise among other things but I enjoyed nonetheless. The focus should be on Kids anyway, not what Korine went on to do later
