Lucy's story remains just as important as it did when she was playing ball. Time and again, compelling, brilliant female athletes prove that they can generate revenue and crowds. However, those stories pop up few and far between because the resources continue to be showered on male athletics almost exclusively. The justification always being that they make more money for the school or the national league or what have you. Being good at a sport takes time and dedication and when we don't create the space for people to become amazing athletes, what do we expect to happen? Obviously there are successful women athletes but it is clear that men are still given more access. Great story and happy to hear it from Lucy's voice. I wish a few more interviews had been conducted to round out the story. The framing also felt very static and intercutting with different voices might have made the filmmaking feel less stiff.
