❝Something like this? You can never explain something like this. And if you were able to, the odds are you wouldn't much care for the answer.❞

I saw an article saying that Sinister is the scariest horror film ever made, so I was curious to see if it's true. And while I admit I jumped a few times, I can definitely say I've seen scarier. The plot was pretty interesting up until the third act; I always love the investigation scenes in horror films where the protagonist finds info on victims, and Ellison's search with the deputy was done well. My biggest issue was that the film just wasn't very scary; apart from a couple of jumpscares here and there I wasn't very terrified, and I think part of the reason for me is the design of Bughuul. I also didn't really like any of the characters except the deputy, so I was mostly happy with how things ended up for the Oswalts. Overall, I don't think I'd watch this again, but I'm glad I gave it a go once at least.
