Just want to echo what’s already been said: the lead actor is very good. This was initially brought to my attention by Something Awful, I think, and so I had an understandable reticence to watch an SOV schlock fest but this ain’t some backyard camcorder flick. It’s not padded out and there’s actual cinematography. Sure, there are flaws - he didn’t dare that guy to cut his leg off but he did dare the dude to cut his arm off and the guy only cut his hand off even if that was all a hallucination. Oh, also the wipes. The mask. The misogyny. The cops goofing around. It does this weird false start thing you never see where the psycho gets out of the asylum and then goes back and gets out a second time. Once he gets rolling, though, it’s pretty solid. The coroner (?) who IDs the burnt corpse sounds so much like Vincent Price. There’s a Backstreet Boy in this movie. I need to go back to Florida.
