despite its truly awful acting, this film has got a lot of charm! the creature design is pretty cool, some of the death scenes are great and the characters are pretty fun (especially Sherman and Candy). However it obviously does show its low budget and is pretty dated, but a good time nonetheless. also was interesting to watch the interviews on the VS copy, especially hearing how the film wasn’t actually made with any real message in mind.

this was surprisingly boring for a movie about an aborted foetus who comes back from the dead and kills everyone..

this is like extremely schlocky, and i honestly just enjoy staging movies with a lower quality, the thing i love is this is an actual serious film, which makes its absurdities and trashiness even more enjoyable. this has a massive low budget charm, with over the top gore, and just generally failing as a film in every traditional sense: terrible acting, terrible set pieces and just generally poor storytelling, and that’s why i think it has such a cult following. it has a really interesting premise of a mutated aborted foetus literally pestering everyone, i can’t say i’ve ever watched something so bizarre before in concept, so yeah i can at least respect it in that regard. totally trashy, crude and tasteless all at once: botched abortions, murderous foetus. that final act is truly unmatched, i think the main reason is the 2nd act/middle part of the film was truly a drag and i felt myself going off multiple times, it focuses too much on annoying characters bickering and not enough on the mutated manic creature!! also this has some really weird political undertones, like i’m confused is this pro-life or pro-choice i can’t actually really tell?
