Horrifically terrible preachings combined with horrifically shot sequences that claim to be based on true accounts but are in truth nothing more than poorly performed sketches, at the very least If Footmen Tire You, What Will Horses Do? is so mind-numbingly psychotic as a stream of consciousness sermon that its entertainment value is unparalleled as far as Christian propaganda goes. The Baptist condemnations against violence are hard to take seriously when the film gleefully recreates it as shock value for the purpose of trying to scare people into becoming “saved” all for the purpose of the Revival, for if there are not enough Christians in the United States, then God will go elsewhere. It’s such a wild claim that is constantly undercut by their misunderstandings of communism as an ideology and practice, with the film practically saying that communism is an ideology that promises instant gratification, as if that is a worse alternative than the one saying that inaction and waiting is the way to go. Condemnation evangelism has done more to move people out of the church than any supposed boogeyman has ever done.
Anyways, Judy carried.
